Geography and History

Here is the second part of the project about Italy!

The countries that border Italy are France, Switzerland, Austria and Slovenia. There are many famous landmarks in Italy like the leaning tower of Pisa and the Colosseum. The Renaissance also started in Italy. It started in the mid 14th century and ended in the 17th century. It started because the Italians wanted to remake the achievements of the Ancient Romans.

People such as Leonardo da Vinci and Michelangelo made great paintings and sculptures during this time. The Mona Lisa was made by Da Vinci at this time.

Michelangelo made the famous sculpture 'David' as well.
